After teaching himself to play the orgue, accordion, oud, and percussion, he studied Oud at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music where he became a teacher, after graduating in 1997, and participated in developing the Oud curriculum.
Hussein was the 1st prize (gold medal) award winner at “Studio El Fann” in 1996.

He participated in many festivals in Lebanon, at Beit el-Din and Baalbek, as well as with many artists outside Lebanon.
He is a member of the Lebanese oriental orchestra and has often joined the national symphonic orchestra with different conductors and composers like Gabriel Yared, Harout Fazlian, and Dirk Brosse.
